Partners Relief & Development, an international NGO and humanitarian relief organization, came to WCG to elevate global awareness of its humanitarian work with children and refugees across Syria, Iraq and Myanmar and help drive donor support for its efforts
As one of the few NGOs able to work in the northeastern Syrian region, Partners Relief & Development faced adversity in elevating public awareness of its life-saving efforts for Syrian refugees. They needed more donations to support their on-the-ground programs that included a mobile field hospital to serve the medical needs of the refugee community. With literally hundreds of thousands of refugees caught between opposing warring forces, this was a highly time-sensitive public relations and media campaign – it had to be completed in one week.
We sought to position Partners Relief as one of the world’s foremost experts on the Syrian humanitarian crisis through targeted media relations outreach. We focused on reporters covering Middle East policy, humanitarian assistance and international and breaking news. Partners’ President, a Middle East policy expert and humanitarian leader, became a highly effective spokesperson in the campaign, providing reporters with day-to-day updates about the organization’s work.
The program secured 126 earned media placements in a brief period, bringing much-needed attention to the impact of Partners’ work in Syria. Those placements encompassed television, radio, print and online media across local, national and international markets. Nearly all placements integrated information about Partners Relief efforts in Syria as well as quotes from Partners’ President.
